死に際の仲間に救命イカダを形成するイルカ：Dolphins form life raft to help dying friend

日本海で2008年6月、韓国国立水産科学院（NFRDI）が撮影した貴重映像。

怪我したメスにイルカが12頭ぐらい群れていたので何事かと思って観察していたら、約30分後、みんなでイカダ組んでメスを下から支え始めたんだって。たぶん窒息しないように。

数分後、群れの一部が離れていって、メスの体は沈んで縦に。
尚も上に押し上げる仲間の努力も虚しく、メスは息を引るが、それでも5頭が名残惜しそうにそこに残って、メスが沈んで見えなくなるまで体に触れていたんだって。
