2007年6月29日米国にて発売。初代iPhoneは2Gネットワークなので「iPhone 2G」と呼ばれる。GSM端末なので日本では売ってない。
2. 2nd Generation iPhone 3G
Released July 11, 2008 worldwide. Black body. 2G iPhone runs on the 3G network.

3. 3rd Generation iPhone 3GS

and iPhone 3GS was released on June 19, 2009
(in Australia and Japan on June 26)
The body remains unchanged from iPhone 3G. At first we called it 3rd gen iPhone or 3G iPhone, but after it was released everybody started to call it "iPhone 3GS" to avoid confusion with iPhone 3G.

4. 4th Generation iPhone
iPhone 4.0 OS will definitely be released. But 4G network is probably not ready yet, so next iPhone won't be called an iPhone 4G. For now you'd better call it "iPhone 4" or "iPhone 4.0" or "next gen iPhone" or simply "new iPhone" to keep the trolls away!
iPhone 4.0 OSは出るだろうけど、4Gネットワークは未整備だろうから、「iPhone 4G」とはならんだろう。正式名称が出るまでは、とりあえず「iPhone 4」で様子眺め。第四世代と言いたいなら「4G iPhone」と語順に気をつけないとね。「iPhone 4.0」でもOKかな。OS出ると決まったわけじゃないけど。
