U2ニューアルバムがリーク、全曲公開に:U2 - No Line on the Horizon Revealed

Some wonder why U2 placed the equal sign...

According to the band, the photograph was taken by Japanese artist Hiroshi Sugimoto and represents “an image of the sea meeting the sky.” There’s also an equals sign, but it doesn’t actually obscure the horizon, thus No Line on the Horizon.- Rolling Stone
Following the accidental leak by Universal Australia, US officially revealed the entire new album on MySpace Music.  Why not iTunes?  I don't know.  Maybe a conflict bet'n iTMS and Universal Music? Or because of the $100 million Bono's Elevation Partners invested in the iPhone-killer maker, Palm?


発売を2週間後に控えたU2の新アルバム『No Line on the Horizon』が18日、豪州のユニバーサルのウェブに約2時間うっかり売り出され、コピーが大量に出回った。

20日にはMySpace Musicで全曲丸ごと正式にストリーミング開始したからいいが、報道陣に評価用コピーも配らず、試聴パーティーでも電子機器端末全部取上げてリーク防衛に躍起だったレーベルが「自分でばら撒いてんじゃ世話ないわい」と呆れられてる。

それにしても何故iTunesじゃなくMySpace? iTMSとユニバーサル、うまくいってない? ボノのプライベートエクイティ「Elevation Partners」が、iPhoneキラーのPalm Pre作ってるPalmに暮れに$100M(1億ドル)投資したのが効いたんだろか?

因みにカバーは日本人アーティストHiroshi Sugimoto氏の写真だよ。「完全二等分の画像にあんなイコールの記号入れられて、スギモトはどう思ってんだ?」と心配の声も。…そか、イコールか…。
