ムハンマドのバラ:Roses of the Prophet Muhammad

Things from Denmark? Humnnn....Andersen, cheese, LEGO, and...yes, yes, Danish pastry!

Iranians love it. So, instead of banning it, they decided to give it a new name, "Roses of the Prophet Muhammad." Sure, it looks like... a rose. If the US House representatives call french fries 'Freedom Fries' at the Capitol Hill, why not Iranian folks do the same!

According to the news last week, a cleric offered a $1 million bounty for killing the cartoonist (there are 12 of them. If the cleric knows it remains unclear). Renaming a flaky dessert, all of sudden, seems a lot more peaceful, impeccant alternative.

At least 50 people have been killed, and it all started from 12 cartoons (click the image below for full image). It could have been anything, but why they published such a provocative material? The editor explained it all.

He argues;
"Jyllands-Posten decided to do it by adopting the well-known journalistic principle: Show, don't tell. "
"And by treating Muslims in Denmark as equals they made a point: We are integrating you into the Danish tradition of satire because you are part of our society, not strangers. The cartoons are including, rather than excluding, Muslims."
Including...but the Islamic society bars any depiction of Muhammad, and we know it, right? How can he include them this way...? If that's what he really meant, these cartoons needed long, long and long captions!
