オバマ就任式にバス予約1万台：10,000 Buses Going to Obama's Inauguration

The Jan. 20 inauguration of U.S. President-elect Barack Obama is coming up, and so are an estimated 10,000 charter buses and 200 million to 400 million people including celebrities like Tom Hanks, Beyonce and their fans, creating "logistical nightmare" for the planners.

If parked the 10,000 buses end to end, it would circle the Capital Beltway and then stretch to Baltimore (MAP).  Your logistic response is ... Where Do You Park 10,000 Charter Buses?

Of course they know they are not gonna make it, but I feel it's a wonderful thing that they can tell their sons and daughters, "I was heading for the capital on that very day."


オバマ就任式（米国時間1月20日正午）には全米からチャーターバス1万台が集まるそうだ。全国バス運送会社800社加盟の米国バス協会上級VPが予約数をベースに発表した。

式典は今の世代にとってのワシントン大行進とも言われ、200万～400万人という未曾有の動員数が予想される。「席がなくても」出るトム・ハンクス、ビオンセはじめセレブとそのファンも団子になって。

バス1万台を1列に並べると首都環状高速キャピタル・ベルトウェイをぐるっと一周して隣のバルティモアまで伸びてしまう（地図）。どこに停めるんじゃい！　と思っちゃうけど、それは乗る人の方が分かってるよね。オバマなんて見えなくていいからとにかくこの日に「首都方向に動いてた」という事実を末代まで語り継ぎたいんだと思う。
